Madrasah students are not on par with non-madrasah students
in terms of contributions and achievements.
How far do you agree with this?

When this kind of statement is made, firstly we have to understand that in every judgment made by man it is subjective. Only the judgment of Allah is objective. We all know that. So we have to see what is the benchmark.
Apakah kayu ukur nya?

What I will talk about is the norm and majority. There are always isolated cases, which is the minority, which is irrelevant to bring up.

First, let’s look at the madrasah students perspective. Upon completion of their schooling, generally they would go into the Deen industry, be it at Muis, madrasah, masjid, tuition centers etc, although there is an increasing number going into the commercial sector. When madrasah students return from tertiary institutes like Syria, Egypt, Saudi, Malaysia, they have in them the burning inspiration and passion of serving the Muslim society. Despite knowing huge challenges that face them, they still pursue Islamic education.
For the non-madrasah students, from young, they are taught to study hard, get good grades, go to university and obtain the 5Cs in life. Career, Cash, Car, Condo and Credit card. I should know that because I did not come from madrasah and that was what I was taught in school. With that in mind, people only think for themselves and want the best for themselves. Who cares for the society? “As long as I live comfortably and have the luxuries in life, go for regular holidays, I don’t care about anything else”.
These people are contributing to the economy and they bring huge profits to whichever company they work for but THAT IS NOT CONTRIBUTING IN MY BOOK. Your Cs don’t mean a thing to me. The Ba, Ma and PhD are just pieces of paper that allow you to satisfy and obtain your desires.
Second, who are the ones teaching about Islam to the Muslim children whose parents do not come from madrasah and have little knowledge of Islam? Obviously the qualified asatizah who generally come from madrasah. Do we see how great the contribution these asatizah and the guru-guru Al-Qur’an are making? They are the ones implanting the seeds of Islam in these young Muslims.

Antum semua stand shoulder to shoulder if not higher with anybody, walaupun dia dari Oxford, Cambridge mahupun Harvard. Kenapa?

Bissmillahirrahmanirrahim...

Salam,

Alhamdulillah ana cuba nk share ikit utk topic kali ni. Walaupun sebnrnya tak byk waktu tp insyallah ikit pun dpt dimanfaatkan oleh semua biiznillah.

Hmm..

Nah, masa ni lah kita semua gunakan kesempatan mencabar diri utk didik diri dan jiwa agar berani berbual melayan tetamu walaupun sebelum ni antum orang nya pendiam bisu seribu bahasa!

Wallahua'lam.

In The Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Assalamualaikum Wr Wb,

My dear beloved DMASYQ-ian brothers and sisters, I would like to remind myself & also to my beloved brothes & sisters beforehand to stay firm and further strengthen our Iman & Taqwa to Allah swt, to perform all our duties with conviction, to refrain from all prohibitions and strive to do good at all times.

I would like to give my opinion and views regarding the statement for Bicara Dmasyq topic no 7.

First of all, I would strongly disagree with the view which states that Madrasah students are not on par with non-madrasah students in terms of contributions and achievements. In my opinion, this statment is very subjective and neither one of them can beat or overpower each other in terms of achievement and contributions.

Both Madrasah and non-Madrasah students are contributive in their own fields of expertise and focus. And I strongly believe that both of them are not competing but rather supporting each other strongly. As human beings and also delinquents, we can never be complete, and we can never be the masters of everything. We can only dream to be the in the shoes of our beloved Prophet (pbuh) and also be in the stauture of the sohabis or great Muslim thinkers of the past.

We can only dream to be like Ibn Sina who was once a great scholar of astronomy, mathematics, chemistry, physics, philosophy, science, poetry and at the same time a great scholar of the Shariah Islamiah.

We can also only dream to follow in the footsteps of Al-Kindi who was also once a massive scholar in mathematics, pharmacology, medicine, music theory, physics, astronomy and also at the same time a great scholar of the Islamic philosphy.

My dear brothers & sisters, dreams aside, we have to get back to reality and face the real issue. Until when do we only sit down and blame each other in each other's shortcoming ?

Until when do we want to just sit back and wait for others to contribute, and at the end of the day question the effort given by our friends from the other sector ?

We should rise, and start contributing and help others to contribute. We should learn to stay united in any form of diversity and support each others contributions and achievements.

"Surely, they, who from fear of their Lord are cautious, And those who believe in the revelations of their Lord, And those who ascribe not partners unto their Lord, And those who dispense their charity with their hearts full of fear, because they will return to their Lord;- They race for the good things, and they are the earliest to do the good things.."
(Al-Mukminun : 57-61)

InsyaAllah, when we contribute and offer our help, we will be closer towards the mission of becoming the best ummah that always strive towards goodness, Amiin.

Wallahu ta'ala a'lam..

PEACE,
ZFizar

salam to All My brothers and Sisters,

From my own view, if we start counting and comparing whatever good that we have done, be it to ourself or to the whole world, it will all falls into nothing.

the way I see it,it's better that we dont sit around here to talk about things we have done and judge them.. instead we should think of what we have not done.. and how to get it done. Every being compliments each other in so many ways (madrasah students or not, muslims or not).. we just have to find out and make good use of it.

perhaps from the benefit of this topic, one might start to think about their contributions and could as well fire up their enthusiasm to start contributing.

and at the end of the day, it is not our achivements or contributions that are being judged upon.. but it's the level of Taqwa that we have earned from whatever big or small that we have done will save us.

just a humble thought from A Servant of Allah,
Nurul Zahidah.
