Salam to all my brothers and sisters.
Alhamdulillah. Firstly, I thank the Dmasyq blog team for continuing 'Bicara Dmasyq' and coming up with this topic. JazakumullaAllahu khair.
We are all well aware of what is going on around the world, what our brothers and sisters are going through. Our Brothers and Sisters in Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya. Muslim lands are being invaded, homes destroyed, families killed in front of their eyes, imprisoned for no reasons and held without trial, they are humiliated and treated worst than animals. Are we able to do anything about it other than making du’a? Yes of course we can.
NO! I’M NOT TALKING ABOUT BLOWING OURSELVES UP. NEITHER ISLAM TEACHES AND ALLOW THAT NOR IS IT A PRACTICE OF THE BELOVED PROPHET MUHAMMAD (PEACE AND BLESSINGS UPON HIM).
The Prophet(peace be upon him) has taught us that the du’a is our weapon. Every time when an oppression makes headline, we see Muslims at all levels of society making dua, making solah hajat asking Allah for His help. Let’s question ourselves, is that all that we can do? Think O Muslims! There are more things that can be done. The du’a that we make for our oppressed Brothers and Sister should be made without being reminded.
We can also do the following:
1. Give donations, which we already are alhamdulillah.
2. Give humanitarian aid if possible. Why must it be non-Muslim Non-governmental organizations (NGO) that are first at the scene? An example was during the Tsunami tragedy in 2004. This example may not be Muslims being oppressed but Muslims were in distress. How long did it take before Muslim organizations reached Indonesia to give aid? How many Muslim scholars and du’aat rushed to help? Only a handful. I thank the handful of asatizah and volunteers from Singapore. May Allah reward all of you. Are Muslims that busy or is it just us that we are always slow to react to situations?
3. The third point I’m driving at is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT in my book. How can we help our oppressed brothers and sisters? I’ll simply say STOP SUPPORTING those huge corporations that are either investing or contributing money in the war against our fellow Muslims. We talk about how we are against certain country’s foreign policies that oppress our fellow Muslims. We get charged up when talking among ourselves about these issues. We cry in our du’a when we make for the oppressed. But at the same time right after we make the du’a we do the following:
1) We head for the FASTFOOD JOINTS that serves burgers, fried chicken, pizzas etc that support or invest in countries that oppress our fellow Muslims. We do this without the slightest conscience of guilt.
2) We purchase the FIZZY SOFT DRINKS made by these companies, especially during Eid when our sins are supposed to have been forgiven by Allah. How contradicting isn’t it?
3) We purchase consumer goods made by these corporations.
4) We buy clothes and apparels made by these companies. Companies that are also involved in modern day slavery, aka ‘sweatshop industries’.
What do we have to do then? ABSTAIN from BUYING PRODUCTS produced by these companies and other Multi-Million Dollar Corporations (MMC). But sad to say some Muslims even the learned and educated religiously will say, “ They are everywhere! There’s nothing we can do! We can’t avoid them!”
I say, yes true they are everywhere and it is extremely difficult to avoid all of them. But at least you can avoid some, A LOT ACTUALLY.
Then there are others that will say,” I’m only one person. What difference can one person make? I can’t make any difference.”
I say yes you do make a difference. You think that you are insignificant but you are a VALUED CUSTOMER to these corporations. These corporations don’t see you as digits, they see you as individuals and they count each and every one when planning their marketing strategy. NEVER THINK that you can’t make the difference. What is going to happen if all Muslims think this way?
Let’s take it upon ourselves to make the difference. Stop assuming that somebody else will do it. Stop giving excuses just because we don’t want to do anything and continue to live in denial. If we think that we can’t make the difference, I’d like to share this with all;
An American fast food burger joint had to close down quite a significant number of it’s outlets in the Middle East simply because customers especially Muslims stop coming. Muslims refuse to patronize them. What does this show? We can do more than just du’a. Educate ourselves, then our family and friends. If we don’t know about this issue, find out about it. Information regarding this is everywhere.
It is ALRIGHT to say “I DON’T KNOW” but NEVER HAVE the “I DON’T WANT TO KNOW” attitude. We need actions. We have talked too much and do too little and this is the truth.
So I QUESTION MYSELF. When will I make the effort? When I myself am being oppressed? When my own land is being invaded? When my own home is being destroyed? When my own parents and family are being killed in front of my very own eyes?
Feel for our Brothers and Sisters O Muslims. Get up and do something about it. Do it now!
"Verily never will Allah change the condition of a people until they change it themselves (with their own souls)". (Surah Ar-Ra’ad, Verse 11)
I have no intentions whatsoever to offend anybody. Please forgive me if I have and appear to be harsh with my words. I am speaking based on what I see and what I encounter. What has been written is the truth and like they say, “Truth Hurts”.

Kalau betullah kemampuan kita hanya terbatas pada du’a sahaja, kelihatannya seolah-olah kita orang-orang Islam ni lemah sgt.
Pasti akan terasa kepuasannya kelak bila kita betul2 dapat betul2 “bebas” dari produk2 tersebut, because that proves that we are NOT dependent on them in order to lead happy, comfortable and contented life.

Bismillahirahmanirahim.
Looking at the comments above made me realise, Are there any Muslims Companies? Muslims factories? Muslims Businessmans?
And what are we doing? Support Our Muslims companies!
Dream as high as possible!
Arzwena Fardany
Bismillah wal hamdulillah~
Think positive. Jangan sempitkan minda kita dengan kata-kata "TAK ADA ALTERNATIF LAIN LAH~" It's all in the mind.
Positive thinking + Positive imaging = Positive feeling. ;)
Let's support our MUSLIMS companies! Ganbare Yo Ahli DMASYQ!

salamzzz..
hmm..bukan senang untuk boycott barangan Israel..senang nk cakap tapi nak buat..Ya Allah..siksa..
Tapi alhamdulillah selama kite di syria n spore kite berjaya utk boycott..mmg at first susah, tapi lama2 da jadi lali..Lagi2 kat spore ni,semua makanan n minuman fav. kite kene pangkar..haiya!! At first kite rasa mcm kene pegi jihad n kene explainkn family members kite...At first drng ingat kite gile,tp lepas kite explain...baru drng faham..kadang2 rasa mcm alien..
Apa pun buat utk agama tercinta...Insyallah semua urusan kite dimudahkan Allah...Semangat kene kuat...
Assalamualaikum..
Bagi peminat milo...ana dah jumpa MY dRINK kat Syria ni..so minumlah My Drink, anda jadi sihat dan kuat..insyaAllah
benar perlu tadarruj...seperti kata ukht huda.
Da'wah thru our actions. inilah peluang Jihad kita. Jom sama2 rebut peluang ni! :D
